Carpet care & maintenance

Caring for your carpet

Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time, there are some quick and easy tasks you can perform regularly to protect the look and longevity of your carpet. Simple preventative maintenance will go a long way to keep your carpeting looking as good as new for years to come.

Encourage the removal of outdoor shoes before walking across carpet so dirt isn’t tracked into the house. Entrance mats will also help reduce tracking dirt in when entering the home or business. Place these in entrances to trap soil before stepping onto the carpet.

Vacuum your carpet regularly to avoid dirt packing deeper into the carpet. The more you vacuum, the less likely dirt will settle and hang around.

Dealing with spills & stains

No matter how careful you are or how much you stick to your maintenance routine, life happens. Your carpeting will still likely experience the occasional spill or mess, especially if you have kids or pets. Fortunately, many of our carpets feature stain-resistant fibers, making cleaning common household stains a breeze!

Don’t wait to clean spots and spills. Blot the areas, rather than scrub, rub, or use a brush.

Since some messes will blot away with a cloth and others will require a comprehensive stain removal plan, it’s best to consult your manufacturer's stain removal guide to see how to best tackle each particular mess.
